Warner Music Plans To Stage Metaverse Concerts

Metaverse Solutions

Warner Music Group is launching a concert venue in the Metaverse in partnership with The Sandbox, a decentralized gaming virtual environment.

WMG, represents the following artists – Cardi B, Bruno Mars, Lizzo, The Black Keys, Ed Sheeran, Blake Shelton, Clean Bandit, and Michael Bublé. They liken the virtual environment to a cross between a performance hall and a musical theme park.

Warner Music claimed to have gotten the virtual equivalent of a shared 3D digital beachside property having pioneered the concept of virtual reality music performances. Our group will provide memorable social musical encounters, beyond the limitations of physical concerts, and break down the usual barriers between musicians and their audiences.

The Sandbox and WMG both fail to provide any more details on the issue of setting up concerts in the virtual world, therefore, the timetable and method for implementing such a thing remain unclear.

In a news statement, Warner Music Group noted that the deal “creates a new venue for music enjoyment in the Metaverse” by allowing WMG artists to perform in The Sandbox. COO of Sandbox, Sebastien Borget, agrees that the potential is promising.

Warner Music Group’s deal with Sandbox adds to the more than 200 partnerships it already has. These partnerships include well-known brands and properties such as Steve Aoki, The Walking Dead, ZEPETO, Deadmau5, Snoop Dogg, The Smurfs, Adidas, Richie Hawtin, CryptoKitties, Care Bears, and Atari.

Universal Music Group, which represents musicians including Rihanna,  Migos, Shawn Mendes,  and Justin Bieber, unveiled official Metaverse avatars for several of its artists last month.
